Application Process

Applying to Apex Academy is a straightforward process designed to help us get to know you better. We value your unique experiences and perspectives. The application process consists of several key steps:

  1. Online Application: Complete our online application form, providing detailed information about your academic background, extracurricular activities, and personal interests. You can access the application form

  2. Submission of Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all previously attended educational institutions. Transcripts should be sent directly from the issuing institution to our admissions office. Please send electronic transcripts to admissions@apexacademy.edu or mail physical copies to: Admissions Office, Apex Academy, 789 Innovation Drive, Techville, CA 91234.
  3. Letters of Recommendation: Provide two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or mentors who can speak to your academic abilities, character, and potential. Recommenders should submit their letters electronically through the application portal.
  4. Personal Essay: Write a personal essay that addresses a specific prompt. This is your opportunity to showcase your writing skills and share your story, motivations, and goals. The essay prompt for the upcoming academic year is: "Describe a significant challenge you have overcome and what you learned from the experience."
  5. Application Fee: Pay the non-refundable application fee of $50. This fee helps cover the costs associated with processing your application. Fee waivers are available for applicants who demonstrate financial need. Please contact our financial aid office at financialaid@apexacademy.edu for more information.
  6. Optional Portfolio Submission: For applicants to our design and technology programs, we encourage you to submit a portfolio showcasing your relevant work and skills. The portfolio should include a curated selection of your best projects and should demonstrate your creativity and technical proficiency.

Our admissions team carefully reviews each application, taking a holistic approach to evaluate your potential for success at Apex Academy. We consider your academic record, personal qualities, and demonstrated interest in your chosen field of study.

Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission to Apex Academy, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., GED).
  • Minimum GPA: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • Standardized Test Scores: While standardized test scores (SAT/ACT) are not mandatory, we encourage applicants to submit them if they believe the scores accurately reflect their academic abilities.
  • English Language Proficiency: International applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting scores from the TOEFL or IELTS. A minimum TOEFL score of 80 (iBT) or an IELTS score of 6.5 is required.
  • Interview (Optional): Select applicants may be invited to participate in an interview with a member of our admissions committee. Interviews are conducted virtually and provide an opportunity for us to learn more about you and for you to ask questions about Apex Academy.

Early Action applicants receive priority consideration and are notified of their admission decision earlier than Regular Decision applicants. Rolling admissions programs review applications on a continuous basis until all spots are filled. Please check the specific program page for rolling admission deadlines.

Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.

Financial Aid

Apex Academy is committed to making education accessible to all qualified students, regardless of their financial circumstances. We offer a comprehensive financial aid program that includes scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities.

  • Scholarships: We offer a variety of merit-based and need-based scholarships to recognize outstanding academic achievement and leadership potential. Scholarship amounts vary and are renewable based on academic performance.
  • Grants: Grants are need-based awards that do not need to be repaid. We offer both federal and institutional grants to eligible students.
  • Loans: Students can apply for federal and private loans to help cover the cost of tuition, fees, and living expenses. Loans must be repaid with interest.
  • Work-Study: Our work-study program provides students with the opportunity to earn money by working part-time on campus. Work-study positions are available in a variety of departments and offices.

To apply for financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa . The FAFSA code for Apex Academy is 001234.

The priority deadline for financial aid is March 1st. Students who submit their FAFSA by the priority deadline will receive priority consideration for financial aid awards.
